How to Read the Broken Tree Pizza Menu by Sauce

The specialty pizza section of the Broken Tree Pizza menu isn't organized by meat versus veggie, or by price. It's organized under five sauces: red, white, creamy garlic, bbq, and pesto. Once you know which sauce a pizza is grouped under, you already know roughly what you're getting before you read a single topping. There are twenty-five specialty pizzas in total spread across those five sauces, so knowing the sauce first is the fastest way to narrow it down. Here's what's under each one, start to finish.

Red sauce, if you want something that tastes like pizza

• Traditional Margherita: fresh mozzarella, basil, shredded parmesan, and olive oil. You can add sausage or mushroom.
• The Classic: house blend cheese, sausage, pepperoni, green pepper, red onion, and Italian seasoning.
• The Select: house blend cheese, sausage, pepperoni, roasted red pepper, red onion, and black olive.
• Sgt. Pepper's: house blend cheese, sausage, roasted red pepper, green pepper, and jalapeno pepper.
• Garden (veggie): house blend cheese, roasted red pepper, red onion, mushroom, basil, olive oil drizzle, finished with balsamic glaze.
• That's Life: house blend cheese, calabrese salami, Italian seasoning, finished with arugula, balsamic glaze, and shredded parmesan.
• Queen Bee: calabrese salami, fresh mozzarella, red pepper flakes, shredded parmesan, green chili oil drizzle, finished with a honey drizzle.
• Athena: house blend cheese, gyro slices, feta cheese, tomato, spinach, finished with cilantro.

White sauce, if you want to skip the red entirely

• Roasted Goat (veggie): house blend cheese, goat cheese, roasted red pepper, black olive.
• The Sweaty Pig: house blend cheese, sausage, bacon, jalapeno pepper, on a green chili oil base.
• Fun Guy: house blend cheese, mushroom, goat cheese, finished with arugula and a truffle oil drizzle.
• Italian: house blend cheese, prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, tomato, basil, olive oil drizzle.
• Truffle by the Lake: house blend cheese, fresh mozzarella, goat cheese, shredded parmesan, finished with arugula and truffle oil drizzle.

Creamy garlic, the one people don't expect

This is the section a lot of first-time customers skip over, because a garlic base isn't the usual pizza setup. Arya's List (veggie) keeps it simple with tomato, basil, and a balsamic finish. Plantsylvania is green pepper, red onion, and mushroom. Hailey's Comet loads on chicken, bacon, spinach, and artichoke. Glazed & Confused is just mushroom with a balsamic glaze, about as plain and as good as this base gets. Duke Silver puts bacon and goat cheese with tomato under a honey drizzle. Pete-za, the most built-up pie on this base, has chicken, bacon, sausage, roasted red pepper, and a pesto drizzle on top of it all.

BBQ and pesto, the two smaller sections

BBQ sauce covers three pizzas: Spicy BBQ (veggie), with red onion, jalapeno pepper, and mushroom finished with cilantro; Jawaiian, ham, pineapple, and jalapeno pepper; and Dixie Chicken, chicken, bacon, and red onion finished with cilantro. Pesto sauce also covers three: Magic Mushroom, with chicken, bacon, and mushroom; Broken Pine (veggie), goat cheese, red onion, and roasted red pepper with a balsamic finish; and Henry's 1st, chicken, fresh mozzarella, tomato, roasted garlic, and kalamata olives finished with balsamic glaze.

One reviewer's pick, if you want a place to start

On Google, a reviewer named Amy Klarkowski wrote about trying Broken Tree Pizza for the first time and going straight for the Broken Pine: "I highly recommend the Broken Pine (pesto sauce, goat cheese, onion, red pepper and balsamic glaze!) Yum!!" It's one specific pizza out of more than twenty on the menu, but it's a reasonable place to start if you'd rather have a recommendation than read every sauce section yourself.

If none of the five fits, there's a sixth sauce

Green chili oil doesn't appear as its own section on the specialty menu, it only shows up as a base or a drizzle inside a couple of the pizzas above, like the Sweaty Pig and the Queen Bee.
